Baraka
This incredible and beautiful movie-documentary, made of various takes around the world, involving the different places where human live and also some stunning landscapes of our world. It's basically a movie without a dialogue, but that's because it doesn't really need one with all the images and the perfectly combined tribal music. A movie with a strong message, but at the same time hidden. Just the kind of films I like... the ones that make you wonder! Baraka means something like a blessing or "breathe", and this movie is an exquisite ode to existence!

American Beauty
"The american dream". Once the great George Carlin said that the american dream is called so because you have to be asleep to believe it. An this is what this movie is about, the dark side of that so called dream. "American Beauty" tries to show how naive is to believe that life is that simple. The movie focuses it's attention in a family that interacts with their neighbours and gets involved in a truly thrilling story. It's a film that's going to make you think in everything you thought was a perfect life, and the ways to achieve it. It also has a very cool soundtrack that goes perfectly with the story in general, and each scene in particular.

Love & Death
Woody Allen is one of my favourites directors. And this movie one of his best! I know a lot of fans out there could disagree but please understand this is just my opinion (yours is welcome too of course).
The title of the movie is "Love & Death". It's a comedy about a rusian soldier who is obsessed with death, and plans to kill Napoleon. It's a bit bizarre actually and I think not everybody will get it, but I also think that the readers of this blog are not just like everybody. This movie It's a bit old too, (from the year 1975) but the theme of the movie is timeless because after all no matter what, people will keep dying and loving, since that is what makes us humans.

The Man from Earth
This it's one of those movies that comes to prove that you don't need a millionaire budget to make a movie you'd want to see again. Basically all the story occurs in a single living room, with not very well known actors.
And what is this awesome movie about? (little spoiler ahead) Just picture a man that lived for 10.000 years. What would be he's oldest memory? How did he manege to stay alive for so long? What about forming a family? What does it mean a day or a year for such a person? This questions and much others are answered in this movie. So go ahead and watch it, I promise it's worth your precious time. Hope you agree with me after watching it (if not, no refunds, sorry!)
Once more... Excellent movie, with dialogues that are so well written and played by the actors that it becomes an immersing experience. Not like that cheese 3D immersion, I mean real psychological 100% immersion. So please let me know what you think about this movie in the comments, and try not to feel so sorry after watching it for having such a short life ahead!

Good Bye Lenin!
Goodbye Lenin it's the kind of comedy only some people would understand and enjoy. And by some people I mean intelligent and cultivated kind of persons (yes, that's the kind of person I am, an probably you too because you are reading this).
The story takes place in the communist side of the wall in Berlin, before, and after the fall. It involves the misadventures of a son trying to save his mother from a mental collapse she suffered after seeing his own son protesting against her beloved communist party. And yes, there is a love story like any good movie, and no, I don't think that's something that makes a movie for women.
I really don't want to spoil more of the story, I just hope you feel curious about it and watch it... Because with this movie you can laugh and learn a little about story at the same time.
It's a really hilarious movie to watch (once again) with your brightest friends, or to enjoy by your own!

Submarine
This next movie, I've got to say was very cute. It's about a 15 year old boy called Oliver Tate, who it's kind of a poetic guy and falls in love with a classmate. It also shows the dynamics of his fathers home, which by the way are in some sort of marital trouble. It may be a little bit slow compared to the mainstream movies but I think it's worth watching the hour and a half it last (proximately).
So why watch it? Because I think this movie can leave a very interesting message to anyone who is willing to pay attention and try to see the world as this 15 year old boy. Because very deep inside of us I think everybody was at least once a troubled teenager like Oliver Tate!

Heartbeats
Hello everybody! today I want to recommend a little movie I've watched the other day. It's called "Heartbeats" (or "Les Amours Imaginaires" by it's original name in french). The story is about 3 friends, that get involved in a confusing love story between each other. This movie was directed by Xavier Nolan (the guy in the picture) which as you may have guessed also acts in the movie as one of the main characters.
Why I recommend this Movie? Good picture, excellent story-telling, and also an awesome soundtrack.
